Though originally born in Southern California, Paul Reetz's family continually migrated around the country before settling in the small town of Austin, Minnesota. It was there, in the community's high school where Paul first realized his intense passion for art. Following his new found fervor; Paul made his way to the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. There, he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Illustration and built the foundation for his career.
After graduation, Paul became a full-time freelance designer for the prestigious Target Corporation in Minnesota. The occupation allowed him to gain skills from a wide array of projects including print, product, and surface design, style guides, and advanced trench research. While there, Paul was teamed with world-renowned designers Tord Boontje and Fiona Hewitt, participating in projects involving their unique lines designed specifically for Target. He also gained experience for his work with such reputable brands as Eddie Bauer and Coleman.
Paul, now married and still cold in Minnesota, decided to make a move. He and his wife, Gretchen, packed up and traveled down to sunny South Carolina, leaving behind the cold northern winters. Here, in Charleston, he's continued to freelance and currently holds a design position with music giant Fender Corporation at Musicorp.
